Arranging A Home Visit

After your initial call with a fostering advisor we will arrange to meet you and your family in your home. Alternatively, we could arrange an online video chat via Zoom or WhatsApp -  other video chat functions are available. This will allow us to get to know you better and provide you with a chance to ask us any questions you may have  about the fostering requirements and becoming a foster carer. 

• An experienced member of our team will discuss why you want become a foster carer. You’ll be given more information about the fostering process and we’ll explain the reasons why foster carers are needed and how it makes a difference to children and young people in care.
• We will also assess your home and outside space to understand how any child/ children may benefit from living with you and your family.
• You’ll also be asked to tell us more about your immediate family and about the people who live with you, which will help us to start preparing for your application and assessment process.

This your opportunity to ask as many questions as you want to, so you can get an understanding about the role of a foster carer and the impact this could have on your life and the lives of your friends and wider family.
