Fostering in Haywards Heath
FosterCare UK hopes that you would like to become a foster carer because there is a serious need for more homes for children and young people in Haywards Heath. The local authority of the West Sussex County Council takes these youngsters into foster care and while they do have their own carers, local authorities are not able to keep up with the demand for foster homes.
This is why they reach out to an independent fostering agency, such as FosterCare UK. Our focus is on recruiting, training, and supporting foster parents in the local area. We have been established in West Sussex for some time and have a good in-depth knowledge of the resources we need and the resources we have. We have a close working relationship with all the carers on our team and we encourage you to consider joining us.
It is the best time to start your fostering journey. With your help, we can make a positive difference in the youth of Haywards Heath who have been taken into care by the local authority. Think of the social events and fun things you could do, like the Victoria Park Splashpad. What other career would allow you to work from home and have fun with the kids? Or to relax and chat with them on a daily basis?
How does one get started as a carer? It is as simple as giving us a telephone call. Our first question will be whether you have a spare bedroom. Don’t make the mistake of eliminating yourself from this rewarding career based on an old myth. You do not need to own your home or be part of a couple. We welcome single men and women of all races and religions to our team.
While we cannot tell you for sure what placements will be available, we can tell you that we have frequent requirements for homes for sibling groups. We also want to have more placements available for parent and child care.
When you make the decision to join us, the application process takes a few months, typically between four and six, as you get to know us and our procedures and we get to know you. One of the things we pride ourselves in is our ability to match youngsters with carers and the reason we can do this is that we know our carers as good friends. We know their skills, experience, and preferences.
We have ongoing and comprehensive support, generous fostering allowances, and a strong network of carers. From the beginning of the assessment process, a supervising social worker will assist you and guide you through all the steps. He or she will answer your questions and listen to what you have to say.
