Fostering in Crawley
Have you ever thought about fostering? If you have and you live in the Crawley area, even as far south as Brighton and Hove, we’d love to hear from you. FosterCare UK is an independent fostering agency and we are always looking for new foster parents to help us change the lives of children and young people. We work with local councils across the South East of England, including those in West Sussex, to provide an essential fostering service to children and young people who need our help.
Annually across the South East of England, there are thousands of children and young people who need caring and supportive foster parents after having to leave their family home. Foster care isn’t always the easiest of jobs, but with love and patience, it can be the most rewarding experience of your life.
Maybe you’ve already thought about becoming a foster carer but didn’t think you had the time or experience to be a foster parent. At FosterCare UK we provide many different types of fostering services that open up opportunities for potential carers who didn’t think they would be able to foster a child. At FosterCare UK we urge everyone to think about fostering, no matter your age, race, gender or marital status. There is something in foster care for everyone.
Foster care can be more flexible than some people think. Depending on the age and needs of your foster child or young person, you can combine their care with the care of your own children. If they are a little older, you can continue to work while providing this incredible service.
To start your path to becoming a foster carer, it’s as simple as getting in touch with our West Sussex team by phone or online. Once this is complete we’ll visit you and fill out a Form F Assessment. This assessment lets us meet you and your family and visit your home to make sure that you have everything you need to be a foster parent – a spare room is vital and patience, love and a sense of humour is highly recommended!
We believe that fostering is a no experienced needed service – we will provide all the training and support you need to be the best foster parent you can. If you decide to become a foster carer with us you’ll have the opportunity to meet with our foster carers who have already gone through the process. You will also be provided social work support as well as general fostering support and training from our professional South East foster care team.
Once you’ve completed your assessment you will work with a supervising social worker who will help you through the rest of the process. Your social worker will be able to provide more information about working with looked after children and will answer any questions you might have about fostering.
