Fostering in Burgess Hill
We’re looking for caring, compassionate people to start fostering in Burgess Hill.
FosterCare UK is an independent foster care agency. This means that we work with local authorities across the south of England, including Burgess Hill County Council in West Sussex, to help place children and young people into a safe and loving foster family when, for whatever reason, they are no longer able to keep living with their birth families. The demand for foster carers across the UK however, is far greater than the number of foster parents available – this is why we need your help.
We want you to join our professional fostering team.
So who can become a foster carer in Burgess Hill? All you need is to be over the age of 21, in good health and have a spare room in your home. Your race, gender or whether you’re LGBT don’t impact your ability to provide high-quality care to children and young people in your local area.
Before officially becoming a foster carer with FosterCare UK, you’ll need to go through an assessment process to make sure you have everything you need to be a foster parent. This will start with a visit to your home by a social worker to ensure that you have all the basics – including that all-important spare room! This supervising social worker will be with you throughout the fostering assessment process and will offer support and advice throughout your application. This process ends with a meeting with a fostering assessment panel, after which you will officially be a registered foster carer!

So what can you expect from a fostering placement? At FosterCare UK we provide a complete range of different types of fostering services. As well as standard short and long-term placements we also offer more specialised services such as emergency foster care. Emergency foster care is a short-term placement that occurs with very little notice – this normally happens when a child or young person needs to be removed from their family quickly for their own safety. We are also pleased to provide therapeutic foster care. This highly specialised service provides children and young people with an extra level of emotional support to help them grow and develop after the distress of having to leave their home.
All of our foster carers are provided with professional training from experienced teachers to help them learn all the skills they need to be the best carers they can be. We also offer competitive fostering allowances to help cover costs of caring for your foster placement as well as acting as a reward for your dedication along with income tax benefits.
