Fostering in Bromley
Have you ever thought about becoming a foster carer and fostering in Bromley? If so we’d love to hear from you! At FosterCare UK we’re always looking for caring individuals to help us provide for children and young people in need. FosterCare UK is an independent foster care agency and we work with local authorities, such as Bromley council, to provide new homes for children and young people that can’t live with their family. Our foster carers are changing the lives of children, and you can too.
Anyone can be a foster parent – there’s no experience necessary! All you need is the time to be able to support the needs of your foster child, a sense of humour and a spare bedroom. It doesn’t matter what your relationship status is, whether you identify as LGBT, your gender or your race, we want you to think about fostering.
The idea of fostering may be daunting; you might love the idea of helping a child or young person but are put off by the application process. We understand this at FosterCare UK and aim to make the process as easy and friendly as possible. Starting your application just takes a caring attitude, a spare bedroom and a quick call to our local office in Bromley or the completion of an online form – after that we will provide you with all the training and support you need.
Once you have contacted our South London office you will need to have a Form F Assessment completed. This gives us a chance to meet you and your family and confirm that you check all the boxes needed to become a foster carer – including that all-important spare room. After this is complete you will work with a supervising social worker that will be available to answer any questions you have about having a foster placement.
At FosterCare UK we don’t let anyone go through this process without the help they need. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with existing foster parents who will be able to share their experiences and tips with you. We have a professional London team who provide in-house training and support services to both our carers and young people in care. This includes therapeutic care for young people who have gone through traumatic events as well as a maintenance allowance to help cover the associated costs of a foster placement.
As a foster carer you’ll be providing a vital service that benefits your community and gives children and young people in need a chance at a new life. You can make a real difference.
