Keeping siblings together!

flowerDavid and Sarah work together to provide 4 siblings aged 13, 8, 7 and 6 an invaluable family life experience. Their child focused attitude enables the children they support to participate in a variety of activities to meet their individual needs. The outcomes and progress of the youngsters have been very positive, despite all four children having very different needs ranging from language disorders, ADHD and possible Foetal Alcohol Syndrome.

In general the children have made striking progress academically. One child, N, has been recognised as the ‘most improved child’ academically of all the looked after children in the Local Authority. She has become an extrovert child developing an interest in musical dance and has passed various dance exams.

The eldest child has started private horse riding lessons, and is now a competent rider, exceeding expectations of her age group. One of the younger siblings enjoys attending Cubs and the youngest boy is looking forward to starting Beavers soon.

As well as individual activities, the family enjoy many things together including visiting the beach in summer, going to Legoland, visiting a Christmas light switch on in London and family weddings.

In the photo, Sarah and David are pictured with an award presented to them by Capstone Foster Care, in recognition of the exceptional support they have provided.
