FosterCare UK Updates

Our Registered Manager and her 8 year old son completed their second charity run in 3 months.

Demelza House is a local charity which provides Hospice Care for Children in Kent, South East London and East Sussex. They provide invaluable support and care to children with life threatening or life limiting conditions, as well as incredible support to their families.

Danni say’s “I’m not a natural runner but after completing a charity 5k with my son in July we decided to give this ‘Monster Dash’ a go aswell. It was brilliant be part of something where so many children and grown ups were in fancy dress and running through ‘terror zones’ where we got regularly soaked with slime and foam and scared by spooky looking marshals around the 4k course. I’m so proud of my 8 year old, together we have raised over £1000 this year for charity and we are on the look out for our next charity running event!”

We are delighted to announce FosterCare UK has been shortlisted as a finalist in the The Recruitment and Professional Development Award category.

The Children & Young People Now Awards are the gold standard for everyone working with children, young people and families. Now in their twelfth year, these awards provide a great source of pride and recognition for all those who strive day in, day out, to improve the lives of others. They offer an opportunity to raise the profile of projects and initiatives to funders and the general public. The awards recognise initiatives from the public, private and voluntary sector that work with children and young people from birth to adolescence as well as their families. Initiatives might be aimed at all children and families within a community or targeted at those who are the most vulnerable or disadvantaged. Crucially, entrants must be able to provide evidence that what they have done has had a positive impact on people’s lives. *
