What we are looking for

FosterCare UK requires additional foster carers in Kent, Essex, London and the South East

Are you an experienced foster carer? Or are you just thinking of fostering as a new career?

We are interested in working with people who want to make a real difference to children and young people in care by providing a supportive, nurturing and stable home environment.

Are over 25, single or a couple
Have at least one spare bedroom
Would like to work from home and be available to foster
Have the ability to learn and rise to the challenge of fostering
Have children no younger than 8 years old at home
Have been in a stable relationship for at least 3 years
Can commit to a continuous training and development programme
Have a supportive family and friends network

WE ARE PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN HEARING FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE EXPERIENCED OR ARE INTERESTED IN FOSTERING A(N):

Young person moving into a family setting from residential accommodation
Young person aged 8 - 16 years and sibling groups
Child with high needs in relation to physical disabilities
Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders
Unaccompanied Asylum seeking child or young person
Young person, who is a parent or about to become a parent
Young people aged 15 - 18 years and needing an independent/supported living programme

At FosterCare UK, unlike many other fostering agencies, if we feel we have enough foster carers in one particular geographic area, we will stop recruitment in that area and concentrate on where our detailed analysis and research points us to.

Across London and the South East, there remains a great need for foster carers who are prepared and/or experienced in working with the above types of young people.

Due to increased demand for our services, we require additional foster carers in the following areas:

Kent and Medway towns
Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Southwark, Sutton and Wandsworth
Barking & Dagenham, Enfield, Hackney, Havering, Haringey, Islington, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest
Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow and Hillingdon
Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex

We are also keen to further develop our current group of foster carers that are based on the East London/Essex borders.

We are not actively recruiting in the Thanet area at present (April 2012) and will only process fostering applications from experienced foster carers in this area.
