Placement Management

Our qualified and experienced Supervising Social Workers visit and telephone our foster carers as often as is necessary to support the placement.
Formal supervision of foster carers is carried out at least monthly.
A monthly report under the five headings of Every Child Matters is completed by Social Workers and foster carers and sent to the Local Authority monthly.
Small groups of carers meet regularly with their Supervising Social Worker in order to support each other and pool ideas and strategies.
We provide monthly Social Work Surgeries to better inform practice, look at trends of behaviours and ensure focus on positive outcomes.
We have access to a range of professionals to support the placement, including therapeutic and educational support, mentors and support workers.
We provide outings for carers and all children in the home. In the holidays we hold family activity days and short breaks for all involved.
Out of Hours support is provided daily with our Social Work staff visiting the home, if necessary. The Social Work teams are proactive and regularly check on placements where the child is unsettled as this often prevents OOH incidents and helps maintain placement stability.
We pay our carers appropriate rates in recognition of the professional and skilled role we require them to undertake.
